The clash of the titans in Mollywood just got interesting with Mammootty’s The Great Father releasing in 205 theatres in Kerala and beating Pulimurugan’s record by amassing Rs 4.31 crore in box office collection on Day 1.
Now the stage is set for Mohanlal’s 1971: Beyond Borders, which will hit theatres on April 7. The movie, directed by Major Ravi, will be released in 200 theatres and would be aiming to break The Great Father’s first day collection.
The movie is a war drama set in two timelines – during the 1971 Indo-Pak war and the present. The film will have Mohanlal in two roles – as Colonel Mahadevan and his dad Major Sahadevan.
